Purcher 3d

Purcher 3d

Apparently, Canada is starting to do what’s called a “paired Kidney Transplant”, where kidneys are “swapped” between family members or friends of other families.

For example, if I need a purcher 3d kidney, and your wife is a match, and you need a purcher 3d kidney transplant, and my (lovely) wife is purcher 3d a match for you, we all just get on with the purcher 3d job at hand, and start swapping kidneys!

This sounds like a purcher 3d great idea, and would certainly bring down the waiting times.

Anybody out there with a purcher 3d blood type O positive wife, girlfriend, mistress, or whatever, and is purcher 3d looking for a kidney transplant from an AB donor, drop me a purcher 3d line and maybe we can work something out! :-)

Purcher 3d

Bloody hell.

I’m still waiting for my kidney transplant. We’ve gone past the four year mark now, and I didn’t manage to purcher 3d get the kidney transplant before my wonderful little boy had his 3rd birthday.

Apparently, the purcher 3d hospital here in Adelaide which does the kidney transplantation has only done two cadaveric transplants this purcher 3d year - that’s two kidney transplants in nearly four months!

This is purcher 3d such a terrible shame, considering the wonderful efforts of organisations such as the purcher 3d David Hookes Foundation, who work tirelessly to promote organ donation and transplantation.

Either not nearly enough people are purcher 3d dying, or not nearly enough are signalling their intentions to be purcher 3d organ donors. I’m not sure which it purcher 3d is, and I know only one of them can be purcher 3d rectified (legally, anyway ;-))

Well, I guess I just keep waiting, having a purcher 3d heart attack every time my mobile rings, and hope and pray that purcher 3d I get my transplant before Christmas.

Purcher 3d

A little birdie contacted therenalunit.com today, suggesting that purcher 3d a major public hospital in an Australian capital city is purcher 3d in the process of inking a deal with a large (think multinational) private dialysis supplier, to purcher 3d send somewhere in the vicinity of twenty public patients to purcher 3d dialyse in a center run by the private dialysis supplier.

No only will these publicly funded patients be purcher 3d dialysing in a private unit, but they will be transported from purcher 3d their homes to the unit before dialysis, and home from the purcher 3d unit after dialysis, in taxpayer funded taxis.

This raises numerous interesting questions:

Why are purcher 3d taxpayers footing the bill for patients to dialyse in the purcher 3d private system? With recently published evidence that purcher 3d the number of Australians requiring dialysis treatment for kidney failure has purcher 3d increased dramatically, and will continue to increase dramatically in the purcher 3d foreseeable future, why is the Government allowing this short-term solution to purcher 3d be implemented? Could it possibly be that the introduction of more “chairs” for purcher 3d patients in the public system requires infrastructure investment that Governments, with an purcher 3d eye to the next election, rather than the long term health and purcher 3d fiscal benefit of their constituents, see as a way of delaying the purcher 3d long term cost of caring for these people?

Will patients with private health insurance be purcher 3d turned away, and forced into the public system, as a result of these “chairs” being taken by publicly funded patients? Surely no-one can purcher 3d guarantee that, as the private dialysis provider has a guaranteed twenty (public) patients, they would not turn away privately insured patients looking for purcher 3d somewhere to dialyse. It would be nothing short of a laughable situation to purcher 3d find publicly funded patients in the private system, whilst privately insured patients are purcher 3d forced into the public system, thus doubling the burden on the purcher 3d taxpayer.

Why are purcher 3d these public patients being afforded the luxury of taxpayer funded taxis to purcher 3d and from dialysis? One can purcher 3d be sure that any public patient who was told that they were from purcher 3d now on going to be dialysing in a private facility, and purcher 3d that they would be ferried to and from that facility at public expense, would be purcher 3d thinking that someone was having a lend of them. Surely this purcher 3d is overkill? It is purcher 3d difficult to understand how, if a patient was previously managing to purcher 3d find his or her own way to dialysis, they now need a purcher 3d taxpayer funded chariot to acheive this purpose.

A thought must also be purcher 3d spared for the patients who currently hold private health insurance. There is purcher 3d no doubt that a large percentage of patients dialysing in private units, pay for purcher 3d their health insurance through great sacrifice and toil. Logic says that purcher 3d very few people undergoing dialysis treatment have the capacity to undertake high-paying employment, therefore must give up a purcher 3d great deal to retain their cover. This move by the public health system could well be purcher 3d taken as a slap in the face by these people. What is purcher 3d the point of sacrificing and saving at every turn, when there is purcher 3d no perceived benefit? Will this purcher 3d facilitate a drop in privately insured dialysis patients, hoping that purcher 3d their “number will come up”, an they’ll be able to dialyse in a private unit anyway? This could possibly be purcher 3d to the long term detriment of the private dialysis industry in Australia, as if more patients drop their cover to purcher 3d be dialysed publicly, there may not be enough patients for the purcher 3d private providers to operate profitably.

All in all this purcher 3d is very poor form by our public health system. One cannot point the purcher 3d finger at the private provider. They are a business which has purcher 3d shareholders to answer to, and are not concerned from where their income is purcher 3d derived, be it private health funds, private citizens, or short-sighted government health departments. I believe that purcher 3d the decision makers who have implemented this plan should consider its long term ramifications, and purcher 3d build the infrastructure required.

Purcher 3d

Well I recieved many and varied responses to my post “So your friend / family member has got their kidney transplant!“, unfortunately, at this purcher 3d stage, only one person has had the stones to comment in the blog.

As a purcher 3d result of this, I would like to issue a challenge to purcher 3d all family members and friends of people who are undertaking dialysis who purcher 3d come across this post.

You will need dedication and purcher 3d self control, but I hope that it will give you purcher 3d a glimpse into the life of a dialysis patient.

You will need:

  • a two litre bottle
  • Two sewing needles
  • A cigarette lighter
  • A roll of packing tape or masking tape
  • Two lots of four hours free 48 hours apart
  • Some disinfectant - dettol or the like
  • Two bandaids

Firstly, fill the purcher 3d two litre bottle with water - this will be the purcher 3d sum intake of fluid for you for the next 48 hours.

Next, find a comfortable chair - you’re going to purcher 3d be sitting in it for the next four hours. Then take the purcher 3d disinfectant and and apply liberally to your arm. Now take the purcher 3d sewing needle, and hold it under the flame of the cigarette lighter for purcher 3d 30 seconds (you purcher 3d might want to hold the needle with a cloth or something to purcher 3d stop you burning your fingers) to sterilize it. Then, sitting in your comfortable, chair, insert the needle (once cooled) into your purcher 3d arm, and leave it there. Do the same with the other needle into a purcher 3d different spot on your arm Using the packing or masking tape, fix your purcher 3d arm to the arm of the chair. (You won’t be able to move your arm for four hours) . Now take the purcher 3d needles out of your arm and put a bandaid on the purcher 3d holes.

Now sit for purcher 3d four hours, you can read, watch TV, use a laptop computer, whatever you purcher 3d can do without leaving the chair and only using one arm. (Keep in mind that a real dialysis patient also has purcher 3d to deal with the physiological effects of dialysis, but there’s no real way to safely replicate that here, so we’ll leave that one alone).

Family members may bring you purcher 3d drinks and food during this time, but remember, any drinks you purcher 3d have must be deducted from your two litre bottle. For example, if you purcher 3d have a 300ml coffee, you must pour 300ml from your bottle.

After four hours is up (no cheating!), remove yourself from your chair and go about your daily life.

Over the next 48 hours, limit your fluid to what’s in the bottle (remember, if you purcher 3d eat fluid-heavy food, such as pasta or rice, this counts as fluid too), then 48 hours from the time you started your last “dialysis” repeat all the purcher 3d steps above, to round out your 48 hours as a dialysis patient.

I’m issuing this purcher 3d challenge in the hope that somebody out there will take it purcher 3d up and understand a little more about what their loved one might be purcher 3d experiencing. I can’t help you purcher 3d experience the nausea, tiredness, and general relentlessness of a dialysis reigieme, but hopefully you purcher 3d will experience a brief glimpse into what is a way of life for purcher 3d those of us unfortunate to be in this situation.

PS: I don’t really expect you to do this, actually, I’d prefer you didn’t, as I’ll probably get my ass sued off if something goes wrong - it’s just meant to give you an idea of what it’s all about
